It’s been a long time since I’ve used this domain…but in the intervening years since Myron Rhodes and I beat up on federal, state and local government and some of the politicians who were part of those entities, I’ve aged and actually matured. I’ve modified some of my political beliefs and spent a fair number of years trying to put the owners of a multi-million dollar criminal enterprise into prison. Most of you know that story and I’m not going to recount that here and now.
In short, our communities need investigative journalism, something that isn’t possible with my friend, Mario Retrosi, at his station WSVA. Another friend, Randi B. Hagi, along with her colleagues, does some excellent long form journalism on WMRA, but her interests and ours don’t often intersect. Brad Zinn, of the Staunton News Leader, also digs into his stories. Finally, my friends Joe & Deb Fitzgerald have the most-detailed reporting on what’s going on in the Harrisonburg city government at TSA Harrisonburg.
Me? I pick at whatever needs picking at, whether my target is republican or democrat. Like the “old Republitarian”, we will call a ball a ball, and we’ll call a strike a strike.
To be a little more in the mainstream, we’ll be hooking up with local, state, and federal governmental entities to get on their newsfeeds so we’ll not only knowing what’s going on, but you will too!

I hope you’ll take a look at our first story, where we dive into Monica Robinson, a current member of the Harrisonburg City Council and who is standing for re-election, and what appears to be “her” organization, the Shenandoah Valley Black Heritage Project and where they’re spending the large amount of money, her large increase in salary as Executive Director of the non-profit 503(c)(3) organization, and the appearance that the spending, with few exceptions, doesn’t seem to benefit black folks in the Shenandoah Valley much at all.
